Small Green Shoots is a small but mighty, National Portfolio Organisation dedicated to increasing career opportunities within the music and creative business for underrepresented young adults.
Established in 2009, the organisation’s achievements over the past 15 years includes placing over 320 talented young people in jobs within the sector, including our current Managing Director, Makeda McMillan, who was one of Small Green Shoots first ever alumni. Along with this, we have secured over £1.7 million of early-stage funding for artists such as Jorja Smith, Hamzaa, The Compozers, plus more.
When it comes to championing and nurturing young talent, we offer Paid in-person employability programmes specifically tailored to the music and creative industries. Our programmes allow you to explore different roles from across the industry, and meet and learn from industry professionals.

A bespoke 6-month training and development programme built around the needs of YOU and the demands of the fast-moving music and creative industries.
An intensive bursary paid 8-week training programme for Young People aged 18-24 who would like to learn more about the variety of roles that exist in the sector by the industry itself.
